As an extension of the real estate statistics from September, here are some one-liners that you may find interesting:
• Of the 578 detached homes sold in Metro Vancouver, the selling price for more than half (343) was between $1.5 million and $3 million.
• Of the 989 condos (apartments) sold in September, most of them (752) were between $400,000 and $900,000.
• Of the 302 townhomes that sold, more than half (155) went for between $900,000 and $1.5 million.
• The neighbourhood where the most homes sold, by category, were: detached homes — Richmond (75); condos — Vancouver West (238); townhomes — Richmond (50).
• The benchmark prices for each category were: detached homes — $2,017,100; townhomes — $1,098,400; condos — $768,508.
• The average price per square foot for each category was: detached homes — $809; townhomes — $776; condos — $958.
• The most listings were all in Vancouver West (“detached” — 617, or 13.4 per cent of the Metro Vancouver total; “condo” — 1,583, or 35.4 per cent of the total; “condo” listings in Metro Vancouver were in Vancouver West (1,583, or 35.4 per cent of the total); “townhome” — 230, or 19.8 per cent of the total).
• Of the two North Shore neighbourhoods, North Vancouver had more sales (53) and West Vancouver (489) more listings among “detached” homes; North Vancouver had more sales (84) and listings (246) among “condos” and also among townhomes (28 sales, 79 listings).
