Inflation figures from Statistics Canada

Inflation affects everything, including real estate, and inflation up-and-down statistics appear almost daily. They are often accompanied by interpretations from people who specialize in interpreting statistics. With that in mind, some of the latest inflation figures from Statistics Canada — British Columbia-specific — are below, and without interpretation.
Just the facts.
According to StatsCan, the Consumer Price Index rose 7.6 per cent from July 2021 to July 2022. This is lower than the year-to-year increase from June 2021 to June 2022, when the CPI went up by 8.1 per cent. That small sample size would indicate that inflation is slowing, at least for a month.
What you might find interesting is the breakdown: what prices were higher and what prices were lower, and by how much, from one year earlier. The accompanying chart should be self-explanatory.
