It’s easy to miss valuable information from TV commercials, especially in the current age of using a PVR so you can skip past them. One useful commercial that is worth revisiting is about BC Hydro rebates, because it can be a dollar-saver for homeowners.
With its Power Smart program, BC Hydro is constantly advising and helping customers save energy and money. Sometimes, it’s really a win-win situation because it involves receiving a rebate.
But act quickly!
A current commercial has to do with thermostats, but the offer ends on Friday. These are WiFi thermostats for baseboard heating and they enable you to “Control your heating through your favourite mobile device from anywhere, at anytime. No hub required.”
The offer is $40 off per thermostat, plus 15 per cent. Regular price for the thermostats are $114.95 (300W) and $129.95 (400W).
Is this just a “free commercial” to help BC Hydro promote WiFi thermostats? Maybe. But at a time when all of society is looking for ways to conserve energy, it’s really promoting a concept.
