Two weeks from now, Canada will have elected a Federal Government and, in the run-up to voting day (September 20), it has become clear that one of the key issues for the electorate is affordable housing. The fact that the Liberals, the Conservatives and the NDP are all in agreement on the needs is, at least, unusual.
That has triggered a regular flow of real estate stories connected to the election. In this blog, you’ll have an opportunity to visit links for two of them, to get a sense of how the industry at large views the impact of the election on real estate.
One is from a website called Storeys, which details the platforms for each of the three major parties and, with input from the British Columbia Real Estate Association, takes a position that the election promises fall short of what is needed. You can read the Storeys story here.
The other is the Financial Post, which provides opinions from what the real estate industry wants from the next Federal Government. You can read the Financial Post story here.
