As times change, so do household fixtures such as lights. The lighting of today is generally considered to be more energy efficient, more stylish and more appropriate.
Changing from the way they were makes your home look more modern, no matter its age. So it’s worth taking a look at outdated light fixtures to see if they’re in need of replacing.
For example, an old-fashioned overhead fixture can be replaced by recessed lighting, wall sconces and pendant lights, usually without diminishing the amount of light in your room.
In the kitchen, LED lights can be low-profile and tailored to limited spaces, where a traditional bulb may take more space than LED rope or strip lights that fit under a cabinet frame and perhaps provide lighting where it didn’t exist.
While designers tend to move track lighting from indoors to outdoors, they also recommend a warm white bulb for kitchen fixtures because they create a yellowish-white hue and one theory is that lights with a hint of red are said to stimulate both conversation and appetites!
