Splashes of colour to brighten your home, your office, your life

“Our homes have become offices, entertainment centres and classrooms, which means the colours, sights and sounds in our rooms have an even bigger impact on our daily lives.”
If there’s ever a need for elevating your mood in a positive way, it’s now, right?
That statement is in a Postmedia story in the Edmonton Journal this week, a quote attributed to the marketing manager of a paint company, so there’s a little “sell” involved, but there’s also a lot of truth. Because more homeowners are working from home, renovations are happening everywhere to make homes accommodate more people who spend their working/school days there.
What colours work best?
The experts say anything goes when it comes to picking colours. If a vibrant colour makes you feel good, use it…on the walls, in re-upholstering or replacing that vanilla furniture with something a little louder.
Have fun and be happy.
According to this story, “colours found in nature also have huge mood-boosting capabilities from grounded earth tones, to sun-baked clays and rich terracottas, all of which evoke solidity, peace, safety and mindfulness.”
The most important thing is how it makes the homeowner(s) feel. After all, for the time being, who else is likely to see it?
