This week’s selling tip: about home staging…

If you know what a home stager is, chances are you have experience as a “home seller” or maybe you’ve even hired an expert to “stage” your home.
If not, you could call home staging “professional preparation.”
Most home stagers will tell sellers that the single most important thing to do in preparing your home for sale is to de-clutter it.
The idea is to make a possible buyer visualize living in your house, with their furniture, and nothing says that better than having lots of room.
It kind of means turning your “home” into a “house” by making it less personalized…no family photos, no personal keepsakes, no memorabilia collections.
It also usually means less furniture. Some home stagers have been known to move as much as half the furniture into storage.
Now you may not have to be that drastic, but it’s worth keeping that in mind if you decide to be a “self-stager.”
Or if you need a professional, ask Jennifer (604-726-8768) or Dale (604-922-3353) for advice.
